10/2/2023 0 Comments Flashing red alarm lightIf the red light on the First Alert smoke detector is blinking rapidly (about 4 times per second), it may be due to a malfunction or damage to the device. The red light should stop blinking, and you should hear a loud, continuous alarm sound. Test the smoke detector by pressing the test button.Close the battery compartment cover and press down firmly to ensure it’s securely in place.Insert the new battery, making sure to align the positive and negative terminals correctly.Remove the old battery by pressing down on the release clip or sliding the battery compartment cover off.This is usually on the back or side of the device. ![]()
